Just coming back from the Western Isles last week, we stopped over in Skye to shoot some pictures I’d been wanting to do for a while. These from up around The Quirang in the north of the island.
As we drove back over the bridge it reminded me of some pictures I shot there in the days when you still had to sail to Skye. Of course, I’ve always known the song about Bonnie Prince Charlie being taken ‘over the sea to Skye’ but only discovered last week that the route that Flora MacDonald rowed was not as I had thought the short stretch from the mainland, but rather the 12 miles across the Minch from North Uist – Respect!
Here it is just a few weeks before it was joined forever to the mainland.
